Results of last Saturday’s Local Government election held in Ogun State, South-west region of Nigeria, have shown that the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, cleared all the nineteen chairmanship positions declared in the State, while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, won a few councillorship positions at the ward level.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, registered its presence at the ward level in five local governments as the party won councillorship positions in Ikene local government ward nine, Odogbolu local government ward thirteen, Ijebu east local government ward eight and nine, and ward three in the Odeda local government.
Others are Agoshasha, Ijofin ward, Ajegunle ward and Idi-iroko wards all in Ipokia local government.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Boroji Kashamu had alleged rigging in not less than eight local governments during the elections and called for the cancellation of the polls at Ogun water side where he alleged ballot boxes were snatched.
