Delta State Government has vowed to pull down all illegal structures obstructing the flow of water in Asaba, Warri and other flood prone areas in the State.
Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan stated this in Warri while monitoring the last sanitation exercise held in the State.
The Governor said he had directed the State commissioner for environment to bring down all structures blocking easy flow of water in the affected areas.
Governor Uduaghan warned that Government would prosecute owners of such illegal structures and would not pay any compensation for buildings demolished.
Meanwhile, over fifty persons were arrested and arraigned before the Delta State mobile court for allegedly running foul of various environmental laws in the Warri/Effurun metropolis during the clean-up exercise.
