In Nigeria, the Ekiti State Government says any ministry, department or agency caught siphoning its internally generated revenue will be sanctioned.

Special Adviser to the Governor on taxation, Mrs. Olubunmi Adelugba stated this in Ado Ekiti at a meeting with officials of income generating ministries, department and agencies.

She said efforts were being put in place to block loopholes and ensure accountability in Government finances.

Mrs. Adelugba decried the poor performances of some ministries in their recent revenue generation noting that those concerned would be summoned for explanation.

Some of the affected officers blamed their performance on poor infrastructure, obsolete facilities and logistics.
