A member of the House of Representatives, representing Bakassi local government area of Cross River State in Nigeria, Mr. Ekpeyong Ahii has stressed the need for urgent review of the judgement of the international court of justice which ceded Bakassi peninsula to Cameroun.
He argued that this has become necessary in view of the plight of the affected people of Bakassi who were currently subjected to all forms of intimidation and harassments by the Cameroonian security agents.
Mr. Ahii told Radio Nigeria in Abuja that in line with article sixty-one of the international court of justice, it was long overdue to review the judgement which he maintained was delivered in error.
The lawmaker explained that the culture and tradition of Bakassi people clearly differentiated them from Cameroun.
