The Federal Ministry of Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has identified inadequate training of journalists as a major factor confronting the profession.
The Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Ijeh made the remark when he led members of the Chapel on a courtesy visit to the Director-General of FRCN, Mallam Yusuf Nuhu.
Mr. Ijeh said one of the ways to make journalism compete favourably with others was to reinvigorate the culture of training and retraining of members.
Mr. Ijeh solicited the support of the Corporation ahead of the Chapel’s Press Week next month.
Responding, the Director General of FRCN, represented by the Director Administration and Supply, Mr. Alex Ogoigbe promised to give any assistance towards uplifting the profession.
The Executive Members of the Ministry of Information, NUJ Chapel also used the forum to commiserate with the FRCN Management on the death of its ace broadcasters Zakari Mohammed and Austin Okonma.
