Due to the recent scare of the Boko Haram sect in Ibadan, Oyo state, a soccer academy based in the city, FRENAGE Soccer Academy says it has increased security measures ahead of a visit by football scouts from Bolton Wanderers.
The academy said the measure was aimed at allaying fears in the minds of all the participants and visitors that there could be crises during the trip.
Boss of the academy, Prince Oluwole Ololade told newsmen that part of the safety move is the relocation of the venue to a military barracks, the Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ojoo Ibadan, and proper identification arrangement for players and other personnel coming for the event.
While addressing sports journalists in his office in Ibadan, Prince Ololade said identification cards had been issued to all registered participants, while authorized invitation cards had been dispatched to all the dignitaries invited for the event slated for 26th September to 2nd October 2011.
He said the Odogbo army barracks was not only secured for the event but also has good football pitch and standard sports facilities that would be appreciated by the foreign scouts that are coming for the programme.
