Oyo State Government in collaboration with United Nations Children Education Fund, UNICEF, is organizing a 5-day maternal newborn and child health week to reduce mother and child diseases.

The Deputy Director, Nutrition department in the State Ministry of Health, Mrs. Funmilayo Olusa said the programme would commence tomorrow at all health centers and fixed posts all the thirty-three Local Government areas.

Mrs. Olusa explained that the programme would offer prevention of maternal in pregnancy, deworming, birth registration and immunization.

The Deputy Director advised parents especially mothers to come out en-mass to benefit from the programme.
