Oyo State Government has concluded plans to distribute fertilizers to farmers at subsidized rates.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Bimbo Kolade stated this at a sensitization programme for stakeholders and other interested agricultural sectors in the State, held at fishery department, State Ministry of Agriculture, Mokola, Ibadan, the State capital.

Mr. Kolade explained that the programme was aimed at boosting food production in the State and to lessen the burden of farmers.

He emphasized that only registered farmers would benefit from the programme to be launched at Ilora next week.

In his contribution, Acting Programme Manager, Oyo State Agricultural Development Programme, OYSADEP, Mr. Victor Atilola said the programme would lead to buoyant harvest in the State.

Mr. Atilola advised farmers in the State to utilize the opportunity.
