As from next month, anybody caught dumping refuse indiscriminately in Oyo State, Nigeria, will be arrested and prosecuted.

The State Governor, Mr. Abiola Ajimobi stated this in Ibadan, the State capital, at a public function.

He said there would be Mobile Courts at strategic places to prosecute environmental offenders.

The Governor explained that Environmental Managers would also be put in place to enforce sanitation laws.

He noted that the use of force was one of the ways to ensure that people complied with environmental laws to enhance cleanliness of the environment.

Governor Ajimobi decried the nonchalant attitudes of some residents to the weekly sanitation exercise, which was aimed at making the State clean.
